The color scheme on Blackplanet looks like something straight out of a 90s Geocities page: neon green and purple everywhere you look! It’s hard enough trying to find someone special without having your eyes assaulted by these garish colors every time you log in. And don’t even get me started on their logo…it may as well be written in Comic Sans for all I care (sorry if that offends any die-hard fans).

Moving onto usability; navigating around the website isn’t exactly intuitive either. There are lots of menus and tabs which can make finding what you need confusing at best – especially since some sections have different names than others! For example, ‘My Matches’ appears under one tab but then suddenly changes name when looking through another section…talk about head scratching moments right? On top of that searching for potential matches is slow going due to limited filtering capabilities – so much so that I was ready pull my hair out after an hour or two spent trawling through endless profiles hoping for a sparkle here or there….alas nothing came up trumps 🤦🏻‍♀️.

While not as convenient or feature rich as a dedicated app would be – after all we’re used to having everything at our fingertips these days – using your browser will get you where you need to go in terms of connecting with potential dates on BP without too much hassle.

That said though, if one were hoping for more convenience than browsing via their device’s web browser offers then they might want to look elsewhere when searching out love online… because let’s face it: who wants extra steps between them and finding The One?! Not me!

So why doesn’t BlackPlanet have its own dedicated smartphone/tablet application? Who knows really; maybe they figure since so many folks already use the website regularly that creating an additional version specifically tailored towards phones wouldn’t offer enough value add compared against developing something new entirely (which could potentially bring in more revenue). Or perhaps they simply haven’t gotten around making one due other priorities taking precedence over such things like expanding into different countries etc.. In either case though hopefully soon enough someone within BP HQ will realize how awesome a free downloadable native application would be both monetarily AND user experience wise — fingers crossed right!?

And if you’re looking for something more than just a casual fling… forget about it because this site isn’t geared towards serious relationships in the slightest bit (which is probably why everyone has such low expectations).

Speaking of which… let me tell ya: people on Blackplanet sure know how to lower your standards when it comes to online dating conversations! Not only do they lack creativity but many seem too lazy or disinterested in getting past small talk before jumping straight into asking inappropriate questions (and no, not those kind!). Plus with so few users actually paying attention anymore – good luck finding someone who will respond back quickly enough without feeling like you’re talking into thin air after sending several unanswered messages first.. yikes!!

All things considered, I’d say steer clear from this site unless you want nothing more than some quick hookups with questionable characters and zero commitment involved whatsoever… because trust me when I say that’s what makes up 90% of its user base these days anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️
